"We believe all people of central and southern Illinois should have access to justice, income security, adequate housing, quality education, healthcare, safety from violence and exploitation, and the opportunity to improve their own lives."

Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation exists to make this a reality.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide eligible low-income and senior residents of central and southern Illinois with high quality civil legal services in order to obtain and maintain their basic human needs. Through advice, representation, advocacy, education, and collaboration, we seek: to achieve justice for those whose voices might otherwise not be heard; to empower individuals to advocate for themselves; and to make positive changes in the communities we serve. Who We Serve

Land of Lincoln provides free civil legal services to eligible low-income residents and seniors in 65 counties in Central and Southern Illinois.  We handle only certain kinds of civil cases. The kind of help we provide ranges from telephone advice or brief service, to representation in court or at administrative hearings. Click here for a map of our service area and locations.

Applying For Help

We have five regional offices, three satellite offices and a centralized telephone intake, advice and referral center called the Legal Advice & Referral Center (LARC).   We also have a special Legal Help for Homeowners hotline for homeowners in danger of losing their home.  Click here for information on how to apply for our services.
